BJP leader and former Faizabad MP Lallu Singh made an unexpected exit from a press conference in Ayodhya on Thursday, citing the presence of 'mafia elements' on stage.
'I cannot sit with the mafia,' Singh declared as he abruptly left the event, organized by the BJP state leadership.
Singh pointed to BJP leader Shivendra Singh as the implicated 'mafia element,' recalling his previous involvement in serious criminal cases. Despite not naming anyone explicitly, his accusations were clear.
Shivendra Singh, booked under attempt to murder and the Gangster Act, had previously been incarcerated in Faizabad and Barabanki jails.
Speaking to the media, Lallu Singh emphasized his long-standing fight against the mafia, expressing that he could never associate with such individuals. Shivendra Singh, however, countered by accusing Lallu Singh of campaigning alongside criminals, attributing this to his electoral loss. Meanwhile, BJP Ayodhya spokesperson Rajneesh Singh defended Lallu Singh's adherence to political decorum.
