In a fierce rebuttal against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, BJP's Shehzad Poonawala accused him of undermining the integrity of the Election Commission following his party's performance in Haryana. According to Poonawala, Gandhi's inability to accept electoral defeat highlights his perceived immaturity and entitlement.
Poonawala criticized Gandhi's contradictory stance, noting his acceptance of the constitution and electoral system when Congress wins, as seen in Jammu and Kashmir, versus his skepticism when they face losses, as in Haryana. Deploying sharp rhetoric, Poonawala questioned Gandhi's priorities, suggesting he places his family's interests before national interests.
Adding to the critique, BJP National Spokesperson Jaiveer Shergill likened Gandhi's reaction to a student blaming external factors for poor exam results. Though Congress celebrated wins in J&K, their analysis and complaints about Haryana's 'unexpected' results will be addressed to the Election Commission. The BJP's robust performances across states stand in contrast to Congress's struggles to leverage regional developments.
