No Imposed Peace: U.S. Involvement Key in Ukraine, Says Scholz
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stresses the importance of involving the United States in any resolution to the Ukraine conflict, rejecting an imposed peace. In a Politico interview, Scholz reiterated that the U.S. must be part of the solution. His statement preceded discussions between Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin, and Volodymyr Zelenskiy.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has emphasized that the United States must play a crucial role in resolving the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, underscoring the need for a peace solution that is not imposed externally. Scholz shared his views during an interview with Politico released on Thursday.
Scholz, firm on his stance, declared, "It is very clear to me that there must be no solution that does not also involve the U.S." He further outlined the necessity of preventing a peace arrangement that is enforced without genuine international cooperation.
Notably, Scholz's comments were made prior to U.S. President Donald Trump's discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy on Wednesday, highlighting the ongoing diplomatic efforts at the highest levels to address the crisis.
