China's Caution Amidst Strengthening US-India Ties

China urges countries not to make it an issue in bilateral relations amid US-India defense cooperation discussions. The Chinese Foreign Ministry has called for countries to refrain from involving China in their bilateral relations, following the meeting between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Trump.

The meeting, which took place in Washington, has drawn significant attention in China, owing particularly to discussions on defense cooperation between India and the United States. The joint statement released post-meeting highlighted the importance of a close US-India partnership for a peaceful Indo-Pacific region.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun emphasized that cooperation should not harm third countries or be used to instigate geopolitical discord. Concerns were raised over possible block formation and exclusive alliances, such as the Quad, which China views as potentially countering its influence.
