The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) has initiated a comprehensive probe into the renovation expenses of 6 Flagstaff Bungalow, the former residence of ex-Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. This investigation follows accusations from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders who allege significant breaches in building norms.
BJP MLA Manjinder Singh Sirsa expressed shock over the property's expansion, asserting that Kejriwal unlawfully created an 8-acre estate. Meanwhile, BJP's Vijender Gupta has labeled the property as an "illegal structure," citing unregulated luxury enhancements worth crores.
The CVC ordered the probe on February 13, subsequent to a report from the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) and multiple complaints from Gupta. The allegations include demolishing adjacent government properties to expand the 'Sheesh Mahal,' as the residence is controversially known among critics.
