The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has escalated its criticism of the Congress regarding alleged USAID funding misuse, labeling Congress leader Rahul Gandhi a 'traitor'. The BJP accuses Gandhi of orchestrating foreign interference to destabilize India, countering reports that the funds in question were designated for Bangladesh, not India.
During a press conference, BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia alleged that USAID financial contributions were intended to manipulate India's political landscape. He presented a contrast between substantial funding during the Congress-led UPA era and the significantly reduced amounts under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.
Bhatia further argued that Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra was orchestrated to undermine India, while simultaneously alleging a strategic increase in NGO funding to bolster Gandhi’s political standing against Modi in the upcoming polls. He refuted claims that the USAID funds were destined for Bangladesh, instead contending a deliberate misinformation campaign by Gandhi sympathizers.
