In a sharp rebuttal, senior Congress leader and ex-Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has accused the BJP of orchestrating a politically motivated Enforcement Directorate (ED) raid at his residence.
Baghel claimed the raid, which led to the recovery of approximately Rs 32-33 lakh in cash, was a demonstration of political frustration by the BJP. He underscored the money's legitimacy, pointing to his large family's farming activities.
Linked to a probe involving his son, Chaitanya Baghel, in a liquor scam, the raid's timing and intent were criticized by Baghel, who asserted it followed his recent discharge from a prior case and queries in the state assembly.
