Prashant Kishor, the founder of the Jan Suraaj Party, publicly criticized religious leader Acharya Dhirendra Shastri, also known as Bageshwar Baba, for advocating the declaration of India as a 'Hindu Rashtra.' Speaking at a press conference in Darbhanga, Kishor emphasized that the country is governed by its Constitution, not by religious decrees.
Kishor noted that while individuals have the right to express their opinions, the laws of the land are created in the Parliament, reflecting the will of the people. He pointed out the irony in some BJP leaders supporting Bageshwar Baba's stance, suggesting it might serve their electoral ambitions.
The strategist and politician reaffirmed India's commitment to secularism as highlighted by Mahatma Gandhi and reminded the public of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah's declarations of being bound by the Constitution. Kishor also criticized BJP MLA Hari Bhushan Thakur Bachaul's advice for Muslims during Holi, voicing support for Muslims in Bihar who are disenchanted with RJD promises.
