Tushar Gandhi, the great-grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, encountered a vocal protest from RSS-BJP supporters, leading to a case being filed against five individuals for unlawful assembly under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Police have confirmed that no arrests have been made thus far.
The protest erupted at a function in Neyyattinkara, where Gandhi criticized the RSS and BJP, warning of their insidious influence in Kerala. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Congress leaders have condemned the incident, asserting a threat to freedom of expression and secularism.
While Tushar Gandhi has decided not to pursue legal action against the protesters, he firmly stood by his statements, despite the tensions and political controversies arising from the incident.
