The Rajya Sabha witnessed heated exchanges on Monday, leading to a 15-minute adjournment during its post-lunch session. The dispute centered around the contentious issue of reservations for Muslims in public contracts in Karnataka.

Opposition Leader Mallikarjun Kharge vehemently denied allegations that a Congress leader had proposed constitutional changes regarding Muslim reservations. Kharge asserted that no such comments were made by his party in Karnataka.

However, Leader of the House JP Nadda countered by stating that the Congress party was indeed granting reservations to Muslims in public contracts. The disagreement resulted in slogan shouting from both sides and prompted Deputy Chairman Harivansh to adjourn the session briefly.
