Odisha's legislative assembly saw heightened tensions as Congress Legislature Party leader Rama Chandra Kadam claimed he was injured when security personnel abruptly closed the lobby door. This incident occurred during his protest against the suspension of 12 party MLAs.
The dispute escalated as Congress leaders, led by OPCC president Bhakta Charan Das, were denied entry into the assembly premises. Former Leader of Opposition Narasingha Mishra labeled this denial 'completely illegal' while the DCP cited prohibitory orders for maintaining law and order.
Prohibition orders under Section 163 of the BNS were invoked, and Congress activists were detained to ensure peace. Former OPCC president Jaydev Jena accused both the marshals and BJP members of assaulting Congress MLAs during the turmoil.
