Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan following Operation Sindoor, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann reassured the public on Friday, stating there is no need to panic, and advised against believing in rumors.
In a bid to maintain order, Mann announced the deployment of ministers to border districts to curb black marketing and hoarding of essential goods, ensuring no shortages occur. "There is no shortage of oil in Punjab, and there's no need to queue at petrol pumps," he stated emphatically after a Cabinet meeting.
With the state on high alert, civil servants' leaves have been canceled, and blackouts enforced in various cities as a precautionary measure. This comes after Indian forces launched missile strikes targeting terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, following a terror attack. The government plans to install anti-drone systems in border areas to prevent illegal activities.
