BJP leader and former Rajya Sabha MP Avinash Rai Khanna has reached out to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) and the Ministry of External Affairs to ensure the safe evacuation of Simardeep Singh, a Ludhiana resident, from Iran.
Simardeep, son of Jaspal Singh of Shahpuri Industries, attended a trade exhibition in Tehran from June 10 to 13. However, escalating hostilities between Israel and Iran have left him stranded in Iran's Shomal region. He is experiencing challenges in returning to India.
Responding to a request from Simardeep's family, Khanna initiated diplomatic conversations with the PMO and MEA, advocating for immediate measures to bring Simardeep home. He assured that the central government prioritizes the safety of Indians abroad and expressed optimism for Simardeep's safe return.
