His comments surface amid debates concerning the Mahayuti government's proposal to introduce Hindi as a third language in primary schools. Due to significant backlash, the state cabinet has reversed its decision to implement the three-language policy.
While speaking at a book launch on Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Radhakrishnan drew upon a personal experience, highlighting the negative impacts of linguistic bias. Meanwhile, Aaditya Thackeray of Shiv Sena denies the existence of linguistic hatred in Maharashtra.
