Prashant Kishor, the founder of the Jan Suraaj Party, clashed with police in Patna during a protest march on Wednesday. The march, aimed at highlighting alleged failures of the Nitish Kumar government, was halted near the Vidhan Sabha. Several supporters were injured in what police termed as 'mild force' to prevent the march.

The protestors, armed with 'one crore signatures' from a campaign launched by Kishor, intended to draw attention to issues such as inadequate assistance for the poor and corruption in land surveys. Kishor demanded a meeting with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar but was offered a dialogue with the Chief Secretary instead.

Despite the police's insistence on maintaining order, Kishor remained defiant, staging a sit-in that affected traffic. He accused police of using excessive force unjustly. The standoff reflects ongoing tensions between Kishor and state authorities, as he prepares for a broader political contest in upcoming elections.
