Delhi High Court Weighs Lalu Prasad Yadav's Plea in Land-For-Jobs Case

The Delhi High Court has reserved its decision on whether to delay trial court proceedings against Lalu Prasad Yadav, the former chief minister of Bihar, in connection with the CBI's land-for-jobs case.

Yadav's counsel informed the court that a plea to dismiss the FIR over lack of required sanctions is set for August 12. Senior advocate Kapil Sibal requested an expedited hearing, while the trial court prepares to present arguments from Yadav and his family.

The case focuses on appointments made during Yadav's time as railway minister, allegedly in exchange for land transferred to his family. Yadav contends the FIR, filed after 14 years, represents political vendetta and lacks necessary approval, making the investigation void.
