Yuvajana Sramika Rythu (YSR) Congress Party leader and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has voiced strong criticism against the state government, claiming an 'undeclared emergency-like' situation. He accused the coalition administration of resorting to 'draconian rule' by fabricating false cases to target the opposition.
During a media interaction, Reddy alleged that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has resorted to attacks on political opponents, dismissing constitutional and democratic norms. Reddy recounted an attack on the house of Prasanna Kumar Reddy, highlighting perceived abuses of power and intimidation tactics.
Jagan Mohan Reddy also accused Naidu of misusing police forces to restrict public movements and distract from unfulfilled electoral promises. He cited the case of Govardhan Reddy, detained over multiple cases, as part of a broader crackdown backed by 'vindictive' legal actions, affecting political and personal freedoms.
