The Election Commission announced on Monday that no political party has approached it regarding the draft voter list for Bihar, published on August 1. This absence of engagement comes despite the ongoing controversy surrounding the list.

The draft roll will remain open for claims and objections until September 1, granting parties and individuals the opportunity to rectify the list by ensuring the inclusion of left-out eligible voters or the removal of ineligible names.

So far, 1,927 individuals have engaged in the process, but no party-appointed booth-level agents have participated. The revision, part of a special intensive process, has sparked protests from opposition parties who fear it might disenfranchise eligible voters. The Election Commission insists no eligible citizen will be omitted when the final electoral roll is released on September 30.
