In a significant political development, Digambar Kamat and Ramesh Tawadkar were sworn in as ministers in Goa's state cabinet, headed by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. The oath-taking ceremony took place at Raj Bhavan and was conducted by Governor Ashok Gajapathi Raju, in the presence of BJP Goa unit president Damu Naik and other dignitaries.

Ramesh Tawadkar resigned from his position as Speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly hours before joining the Sawant-led cabinet. The seasoned BJP leader, who represents the Canacona assembly constituency, has previously held ministerial roles in agriculture and tribal welfare, among others.

Digambar Kamat, a veteran politician from the Margao constituency, shifted allegiance from Congress to BJP in September 2022. His political career began in 1989 with the Indian National Congress, serving as the Chief Minister of Goa between 2007 and 2012. Kamat's move to the BJP, along with seven other MLAs, marked a notable realignment in Goan politics.
