In a heated critique of current foreign policy maneuvers, Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar lambasted the Indian government for what he perceives as a personalization of crucial diplomatic decisions. As President Trump persistently threatens tariffs due to India's Russian oil imports, Aiyar emphasizes the need for expert involvement.

"Foreign policy should never be personal," Aiyar argued, suggesting that highly skilled diplomacies be prioritized over mere personal rapport. He challenged the government's approach of embracing world leaders, suggesting that true diplomatic relations require deeper engagement, including insights from foreign policy specialists.

Concurrently, Congress's Jairam Ramesh raised questions over President Trump's sequential claims of discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on halting Russian oil imports. Despite repeated denials from the Ministry of External Affairs regarding such conversations, Trump's narrative persists, escalating tensions.
