Zelenskiy Heads to Turkey for Renewed Peace Talks with Russia
Ukrainian President Zelenskiy plans to visit Turkey for talks aimed at reviving negotiations with Russia to end the ongoing war. U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff will join the meetings. Although past talks led to prisoner exchanges, no substantial progress has been made towards a ceasefire.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy is set to visit Turkey, aiming to reignite peace negotiations with Russia to seek an end to the war in Ukraine.
A Turkish source revealed that U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff will join Zelenskiy on Wednesday, focusing on solutions to advance the talks. Speaking from Spain, Zelenskiy emphasized Ukraine's priority in hastening the war's end.
The last face-to-face meeting between Kyiv and Moscow occurred in Istanbul last July, resulting in prisoner exchanges but no progression towards a truce. Renewed efforts are underway to facilitate further prisoner exchanges.
