The Congress party has begun an initiative in Goa to enhance its social media influence and bolster its representation in media debates. The campaign, termed a 'national talent hunt,' focuses on attracting young voices to join the party's social media team and serve as national spokespersons.
The program is part of a broader effort that includes similar initiatives in Assam, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat, states anticipating upcoming elections. Speaking at a press conference, Congress national spokesperson Supriya Shrinate criticized the mainstream media for prioritizing agenda-driven topics propagated by the ruling BJP while neglecting critical issues like Delhi's toxic air and unemployment.
Shrinate emphasized the need for Goans to engage with national media, offering Congress a platform to raise regional issues. She also called for more civilised and inclusive debates on television channels.
