Akhilesh Yadav, the Samajwadi Party president and former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, has accused the BJP-led government of being under corporate influence, arguing that capitalists, not the government, hold true power. Addressing reporters in Saharanpur, Yadav highlighted the cancellation of IndiGo flights, attributing it to corporate domination.
Yadav alleged that the government had accepted electoral bonds from IndiGo, leading to a scenario where industrialists wield undue influence. He criticized the BJP government for the alleged peak levels of inflation, unemployment, and corruption, emphasizing the lack of jobs and police accountability.
During a Special Intensive Revision of voter lists, Yadav accused the Election Commission of voter suppression, claiming that two to three crore voters might be disenfranchised in Uttar Pradesh. He urged the government to adhere to the principles laid out by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in the Constitution.
