Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Wednesday openly challenged the AIADMK regarding the 100 Days Work Scheme, which he claims is under threat due to a proposed new rural employment bill.
Stalin sought clarity on AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami's position on the potential repeal of the MGNREGA by the Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Bill, 2025.
The DMK has expressed strong opposition to the new bill, describing it as a measure that could adversely affect the rural poor of Tamil Nadu. Stalin questioned if the late Jayalalithaa would have supported such a move, reflecting ongoing political tensions.
