The Indian and UAE armed forces are set to deepen their defense collaboration with the second edition of Exercise Desert Cyclone, taking place from December 18 to 30 in Abu Dhabi. This initiative is intended to foster interoperability and sharpen defence cooperation between the two nations.
A contingent from the Indian Army's Mechanised Infantry Regiment has already departed for the UAE, joining their counterparts from the UAE Land Forces' 53 Mechanised Infantry Battalion. The exercise will feature approximately 45 personnel from each side, focusing on urban warfare, heliborne operations, and mission planning under a United Nations mandate.
The drills will cover a spectrum of tactical operations, including urban combat, and will integrate advanced technologies such as Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). Officials underscore that the exercise symbolizes a robust strategic partnership and military diplomacy, promoting regional peace and stability.
