The BJP has leveled serious allegations against West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, claiming she is attempting to divide the state from India—a situation reminiscent of the 1905 partition of Bengal by the British. Sambit Patra, BJP's national spokesperson, urged citizens to unite against these divisive tactics.
At a press conference, Patra accused Banerjee of using violence to hinder the Special Intensive Review (SIR) of electoral rolls, ostensibly to shield Bangladeshi and Rohingya infiltrators. He alleged that governance under Banerjee mirrored historical efforts to split Bengal for political appeasement.
Highlighting recent unrest in Murshidabad, Patra claimed that demographic shifts in districts were a result of illegal immigration. He implored West Bengal residents to resist these changes, warning that India's unity is at stake if such divisive politics continue.
