Goa's Chief Minister Pramod Sawant reassured citizens on Thursday that there is no shortage of LPG for domestic usage, even as long queues formed at gas cylinder distributors throughout the coastal state. He noted, however, that the ongoing West Asia conflict has impacted the supply for commercial establishments.
During the assembly session, Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao raised concerns about alleged LPG shortages, prompting calls for governmental clarity on the perceived 'emergency' situation. Alemao observed the long lines forming outside distributors and demanded explanations from the ruling party about the shortages.
Responding, Chief Minister Sawant reiterated that while domestic LPG supplies are unaffected, disruptions are being experienced in the commercial sector. He confirmed that state authorities are coordinating with the Central government to understand and resolve these supply issues. Furthermore, the government aims to gather detailed reports from the Centre to address this ongoing situation effectively.
