Chief Minister Manik Saha is confident about BJP's victory in the Dharmanagar bypoll due to an 'unsettled' opposition. Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha projected optimism on Thursday as he announced BJP's assured victory in the Dharmanagar Assembly bypoll. Scheduled for April 9, the event emerges in the wake of Assembly speaker Biswabandhu Sen's demise last December.
The bypoll pits BJP's Jahar Chakraborti against opponent Amitabha Datta, representing a Left Front devoid of its previous Congress alliance, enhancing the BJP's chances. 'We're 100 percent sure of winning,' Saha declared.
While the BJP anticipates an effortless win, the upcoming village committee elections in Tripura coincide with monsoon concerns. The state election commission has engaged the Supreme Court regarding election scheduling, drawing criticism from opposition leaders like Jitendra Chaudhury.
