Farooq Abdullah, the National Conference president, has voiced urgent concerns over the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. Speaking after Friday prayers at the Hazratbal shrine, he warned of grave economic repercussions should hostilities between Iran and the US-Israel coalition persist.

Abdullah emphasized that the war's impacts would extend beyond regional turmoil, potentially destabilizing the global and Indian economies. The loss of innocent lives was another significant concern highlighted by the former chief minister, who appealed for an end to the violence.

He expressed belief in a 'greater power' intervening to resolve the crisis, beyond the influence of US President Donald Trump, and hoped for divine relief for the Muslim world amid current challenges.
