In a surprising turn of events, Karnataka Minister Ramalinga Reddy tendered his resignation just two days after being sworn in. Despite the abrupt decision, Chief Minister DK Shivakumar assured the public and party members that there is no cause for alarm, affirming Reddy's status as a close ally within the Cabinet.
Reddy, an eight-time MLA, was allocated the Major and Medium Irrigation portfolio but expressed a preference for a different ministerial role. The resignation has stirred political debates, yet Shivakumar remains optimistic about a resolution, stating, "He is a great friend, and we will sort out the problem."
Meanwhile, Home Minister Priyank Kharge highlighted ongoing discussions among party seniors to amicably resolve the situation. Reddy confirmed his unwavering commitment to the Congress, citing a 53-year-long association with the party, despite stepping down from his ministerial post.
