In a sharp retort to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's claims about dissatisfaction with the Congress-led government in Karnataka, Congress MP Pramod Tiwari has urged the Prime Minister to reflect on his own party's history of changing Chief Ministers before critiquing others. Tiwari pointed to BJP's record of replacing leaders in Gujarat, Uttarakhand, and other states, questioning whether similar public discontent existed there to necessitate such changes.
Speaking to ANI, Tiwari chided, "Has the Prime Minister forgotten how many Chief Ministers were changed in Gujarat? Was there such discontent that the entire council required replacement?" He also highlighted leadership changes in Uttarakhand, urging the BJP to introspect before pointing fingers.
Tiwari's comments followed PM Modi's address in Surat, where he cited alleged public grievance against the Congress in Karnataka as the reason for the change in Chief Minister. Modi emphasized India's optimistic future driven by citizens' dreams and government's developmental commitments. Meanwhile, Congress leader DK Shivakumar was sworn in as Karnataka's 34th Chief Minister, succeeding Siddaramaiah, signaling a new chapter for the state.
