Lebanese President Calls for Dialogue with Israel

In a striking public appeal, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun reached out to the Israeli government and citizens in a CNN interview aired Monday. Aoun emphasized that military solutions cannot guarantee safety for northern Israel's populace, encouraging dialogue instead.

Aoun stated, "We are ready, we are willing, we are committed. Are you? If you are, let's sit and talk," addressing the urgency of diplomatic engagement.

Highlighting his stance, Aoun explained that a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would only occur after securing a non-aggression pact to end hostilities, rather than a comprehensive peace agreement.
