In the political corridors of New Delhi, Congress's Rajya Sabha candidate from Madhya Pradesh, Meenakshi Natarajan, addressed allegations surrounding her nomination process on Friday. Natarajan emphasized transparency in the documents filed with the Election Commission, denying any concealment of facts.

The Supreme Court is currently hearing a case linked to her nomination, curbing extensive public discourse. The controversy involves Form 26, a mandatory affidavit detailing candidates' assets and liabilities. Allegations suggest Natarajan omitted crucial information. She contended the claims arose from a misunderstanding about what constitutes a 'pending case'.

Natarajan, backed by senior Congress figures, argued the form lacks a section for random private complaints and insisted full disclosure had been made to the Election Commission. Her nomination was rejected on Tuesday due to alleged irregularities, triggering a protest by Congress against the Election Commission at Jantar Mantar.
