Arunachal's Twin Capitals Gear Up for Long-term Development
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu announced a master plan for the long-term development of Itanagar and Naharlagun. A new water supply project at the Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences was inaugurated, increasing the institute’s water capacity significantly. Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has unveiled plans for the long-term development of Itanagar and Naharlagun. The announcement was made during the inauguration of a drinking water supply project at the Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) in Naharlagun.
The newly inaugurated water supply project will substantially increase TRIHMS's water capacity from 200,000 to 1.9 million litres daily, ensuring a more reliable water source. This project is part of the state government's broader initiative to enhance infrastructure and services in the capital region.
Chief Minister Khandu also revealed plans for a super specialty complex for TRIHMS and a state cancer institute at Midpu. He expressed gratitude to the Itanagar Smart City Mission and the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) for their contributions to the water supply project. The event was attended by several notable officials, including ministers and MLAs.
