Indian Air Force to the Rescue: Essential Supplies Airlifted to Manipur

The Indian Air Force executed a critical operation, airlifting 5,300 kilograms of essential goods to Manipur's Churachandpur district. This region was recently isolated by landslides, creating severe shortages of vital supplies such as food and medicine.

Conducting nine treacherous sorties, Mi-17 helicopters carried out the daunting task of delivering relief materials to the Henglep sub-division. Continuous heavy rainfall over the past week triggered over 90 landslides, primarily between Chiangpi and Tuilaphai, severely disrupting access to remote areas.

With numerous communities cut off, the state government enlisted the help of the IAF. Efforts to clear the roads are ongoing, with multiple agencies, including the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited, working to clear debris and restore connectivity.
