The city's 24-hour average Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at a satisfactory 88, ending a 21-day run of moderate or worse readings.

Weather patterns similar to 2022's contributed to cleaner air, aided by scattered showers and winds averaging 15 km/h.

Despite minor temporary jumps in PM 2.5 levels at some stations, readings remained considerably lower than dangerous Diwali peaks. Meteorologists credit the absence of winter and ongoing winds for this dispersion of pollutants.

The India Meteorological Department forecasts another disturbance bringing more showers, continuing efforts to keep Delhi's skies clearer than in years past.
