Delhi's much-anticipated artificial rain experiment, a significant initiative by the BJP-led government, remains delayed. Initially set for July, it faces ongoing postponements due to unfavorable weather conditions.
According to Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa, the India Meteorological Department indicated no suitable conditions for cloud seeding until October 25. The delay pushes the trial to any suitable day after Diwali.
Supported by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, the project aims to combat winter pollution with five planned trials in northwest Delhi. Under Rule 26(2) of the Aircraft Rules, the operations are approved and are pending suitable weather conditions.
