Amid worsening air quality, the Delhi Petrol Dealers' Association (DPDA) has offered cautious support for the soon-to-be-enforced 'No PUCC, No Fuel' rule. The association, however, has raised concerns over the practical difficulties of enforcing such a directive without statutory authority.
Expressing solidarity with the Delhi government's initiative to combat alarming pollution levels, the DPDA emphasized the need for law enforcement agencies to intervene directly. The association warns that leaving enforcement to petrol pump staff may lead to public disorder.
The DPDA highlights the broader issue of trans-boundary pollution while urging comprehensive regional measures. They stand firmly in favor of government-led efforts but stress that coordination across the National Capital Region (NCR) is crucial for tangible results.
