EU's Carbon Border Levy: No Exceptions

The European Union has reiterated that no countries will be granted exemptions from its newly implemented carbon border levy, according to EU Climate Commissioner Wopke Hoekstra.
Hoekstra outlined that while the UK could potentially be considered for an exemption, this would be contingent upon the integration of the British carbon market with that of the EU.
This move underscores the EU's commitment to enforcing its Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) without preferential treatment.
