The Centre's pollution watchdog has lifted Stage-4 curbs of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) in Delhi-NCR on Tuesday, following a noticeable improvement in the region's air quality. This move signifies a temporary relief for residents who have been under stringent regulations due to environmental concerns.
The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) stated that while the Stage-4 measures are now lifted, actions under Stages 1, 2, and 3 of the revised GRAP will continue. This decision aims to maintain improved air quality, especially as winter approaches, a season known for less favorable weather conditions impacting air pollution.
In an effort to prevent further degradation of air quality, citizens are encouraged to rigorously follow the guidelines outlined in the citizen charter for GRAP Stages 1, 2, and 3. The CAQM emphasizes the importance of collective responsibility in tackling air pollution throughout the season.
