The PGA Tour has unveiled its 2025 schedule, signaling ongoing but intricate negotiations with Saudi-backed LIV Golf. Commissioner Jay Monahan described the discussions with Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund as 'complicated' but affirmed that progress is being made.
Monahan confirmed that there would likely be no LIV Golf involvement before 2026, as hinted by the newly released schedule. Key changes include a return to traditional dates for the Memorial and the RBC Canadian Open, along with venue shifts for major events like the U.S. Open and PGA Championship.
Rory McIlroy, part of the negotiating subcommittee, noted he has not participated in calls since early June, but emphasized the ongoing efforts to achieve the best possible outcome. The 2025 season kicks off on January 2 with the Sentry Tournament of Champions and concludes in August with the Tour Championship.
