Mixed Fortunes for Indian Players at World Chess Championship for Blind and Visually Impaired

John Harris Sujin of India experienced a day of mixed outcomes but managed to retain his joint second place in the boys' section of the World Junior and Women Chess Championship for the Blind and Visually Impaired on Monday.

Despite suffering a defeat against table-topper Racis Michale (3.5 points) in round 4, Sujin (2.5 points) maintained his second position thanks to a win over Rahul Vaghela in round 3.

The tournament featured two rounds on Monday, with a rest day scheduled for Tuesday before resuming on Wednesday. In the girls' section, India's Aisha Sainaba and Megha Chakaraborty, an Asian para games medallist, secured joint second place (2.5 points each), trailing leader Lisenko Lubov (4 points). Both players drew in round 3 and achieved victories in round 4.
