Raducanu, who was seeded sixth, was set to face American Robin Montgomery in the tournament's evening session on Tuesday. However, she announced her withdrawal due to a back niggle, despite her eagerness to compete in Auckland.
The British tennis star has faced several injuries since her 2021 U.S. Open victory, including foot ligament sprains and recent surgeries on her ankle and wrist, leaving her out of five WTA tournaments in the current year's Asia swing.
