The International Cricket Council (ICC) revealed on Friday that the Champions Trophy prize fund will escalate to $6.9 million, marking a 53% increase from 2017. This year, the tournament winners are set to receive a staggering $2.24 million.

Pakistan will host the ICC event for the first time in nearly three decades, signifying a momentous occasion for the nation. The quadrennial One-Day International (ODI) competition kicks off on February 19 in Karachi, culminating in the final on March 9. In total, 15 matches will unfold across Pakistan and Dubai, as diplomatic tensions have prompted India to opt for a neutral venue.

Financial rewards are structured to recognize teams based on performance. The runners-up will earn $1.12 million, while semi-finalists are to receive $560,000 each. Teams finishing fifth or sixth will secure $350,000 each, with the seventh and eighth spots receiving $140,000. The previous Champions Trophy was cancelled in 2016, but reinstated in 2021. This year's event follows the successful 2023 World Cup, hosted by India, with Australia claiming glory.
