FIFA announced eight Brazilian cities as venues for the 2027 Women's World Cup, marking the first time Brazil will host the women's tournament. Although the opening match and final locations are undecided, some prefer Sao Paulo for the opener and Maracana for the final, as in the 2014 World Cup.
FIFA has officially unveiled eight Brazilian cities selected as host venues for the 2027 Women's World Cup. This marks a significant milestone, as Brazil hosts the women's tournament for the first time.
Announced on Wednesday, the chosen cities are familiar names from the 2014 Men's World Cup—Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Fortaleza, Porto Alegre, Recife, and Salvador—most lying along Brazil's iconic coastline.
Notably, the prospects of Sao Paulo and the renowned Maracana Stadium hosting the opening match and final are gaining support. Missing from the list are previous host cities like Curitiba and Manaus.
