The Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) plans to move the remaining Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches to the UAE are hitting a roadblock. The Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) is reportedly hesitant to approve the PCB's request amidst ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan.
Officials from the ECB have expressed concerns over potential security risks and the implications of hosting the tournament, which could be perceived as a stance aligning with the PCB. Sources indicate that the ECB's existing strong relationship with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is a factor in the reluctance.
Dubai, a significant hub for international cricket, housing the International Cricket Council, may also navigate challenges between its diverse South Asian diaspora. Despite announcing UAE as the new venue for the final PSL matches, scheduled logistics and dates are yet to be confirmed.
