Bengaluru has been awarded the hosting rights for the India–Netherlands Davis Cup Qualifiers tie set to take place on February 7-8, outbidding the national capital in a competitive proposal process.

The Delhi Lawn Tennis Association (DLTA) had also expressed interest in staging the pivotal event, having previously hosted a tie against Togo earlier this year. However, Bengaluru's successful bid marks the city's first Davis Cup match since 2017, when the host defeated Uzbekistan 4-1.

The Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association (KSLTA) recently organized the Billie Jean King Cup Play-offs, raising the city's profile in tennis event management. India's qualification followed a landmark victory over Switzerland in World Group I, their first win on European soil since 1993, with the squad led by Sumit Nagal and Dhakshineswar Suresh marking a notable achievement post-2019's Davis Cup format changes.
