Wales coach Steve Tandy has unveiled an expanded 48-man squad for the Nations Championship fixtures this July. This announcement sees the inclusion of six uncapped players as well as the return from injury of captain Jac Morgan and back-rower Tommy Reffell. Tandy's focus remains firmly on developing a strong team for the 2027 Rugby World Cup, following a series of improved performances in the recent Six Nations Championship.

The Welsh team is scheduled to play a non-cap match against the Barbarians on June 27, followed by a Nations Championship game with Fiji in Cardiff. The squad will then embark on challenging matches in Argentina and South Africa. Players new to the squad include props Rhys Barratt and Ben Warren, and loose forwards Kane James, Harrison Keddie, and Ryan Woodman, along with centre Bryn Bradley.

Back-rower Jac Morgan, centre Max Llewellyn, and lock Teddy Williams make their return after missing the Six Nations due to injury. Tandy explains, "Some players will finish next weekend and others might join only on June 27, hence the extended squad." His summer priorities are focused on player growth, conditioning, and skill development as they gear up for future challenges.
