Ola Group Forays into Electric Motorcycles, Partners with ONDC
Ola Group has expanded into the electric motorcycle market, unveiling three models with two more in development. The company rebranded its ride-hailing service and announced a partnership with ONDC for automated warehousing. Ola aims to launch India's first AI chip by 2026 under its Krutrim venture.
Ola Group has made a significant leap into the electric motorcycle segment, debuting three new models and hinting at two additional designs in the pipeline. The move underscores Ola's commitment to accelerating electric vehicle (EV) adoption across India.
At its annual launch event, Sankalp 2024, Founder Bhavish Aggarwal highlighted the importance of entering the motorcycle market, noting that two-thirds of India's two-wheeler market comprises motorcycles. He said the company's success in the scooter segment would pave the way for similar achievements in motorcycles.
Additionally, Ola rebranded its ride-hailing service as Ola Consumer and launched automated warehousing solutions to support quick commerce. The firm also announced plans to deploy 1 lakh 2W EVs over the next two years and to introduce India's first AI chip by 2026 through its Krutrim venture.
