Apple reached a $250 million settlement with shareholders following delays in the rollout of artificial intelligence upgrades to its Siri voice assistant. Filed by Peter Landsheft in U.S. federal court, the lawsuit accused Apple of misleading its investors after it had advertised AI enhancements for Siri during its 2024 developer conference, promising availability with new iPhone models that year.

However, these upgrades were absent at the iPhone launch, prompting shareholder backlash. The tech giant announced in 2025 that the Siri AI overhaul would indeed come this year, with plans to reveal the features at next month's developer conference.

While Apple did not concede fault in this legal settlement subject to judicial approval, it emphasized the introduction of numerous other AI features since the inception of Apple Intelligence in 2024. 'We resolved this matter to continuously focus on our core mission of delivering innovative products and services to our users,' Apple stated.
